Redován appoints Favorite Son in an act on October 9 to the pastry chef José Manuel Marcos Candela
The mayor, Emilio Fernández, highlights that the local businessman and the World Ice Cream Runner “takes the name of our town wherever it goes”
Redován 05/10/2018. The municipality of Redován will pay tribute on October 9 to one of its most internationally known neighbors, the pastry chef José Manuel Marcos Candela, who will be named Favorite Son of the town. The mayor, Emilio Fernández, stressed that Marcos Candela “has amply demonstrated his entrepreneurial character through his business”, while he recalled that the young chef is the World Ice Cream Runner “and bears the name of the municipality where goes”.
The appointment of Favorite Son will take place next Tuesday, Day of the Valencian Community, in an act that will be celebrated in the City council to twelve of the noon in which also the Valencian flag will be hoisted and the regional anthem will be listened to. From there, José Manuel Marcos will write in the Book of Honor of the Redovanense Consistory and receive the Gold Shield of the town.
José Manuel Marcos is chef at Valhorna, a French luxury chocolate house and one of the most outstanding pastry chefs in the Spanish scene in recent years. To his pastry shop Crunchy joined in 2018 Gelateria, two establishments in the center of Redován.
